On September 11, 2019, the UFC Fight Night 163 featured a very interesting fight between Magomed Ankalaev and Dalcha Lungiambula. They are both from different countries. This is only the second time that Lungiambula has fought for the UFC. In his first fight, he knocked out Dekwan Toundsen of the USA.

Dulcha Lungiambula has been doing really well with his fights. He has six in a row with four of them being early victories. He has only lost one fight, and that was in the past to someone else. His opponent is Magomed Ankalaev who is also good at fighting, but 7 years younger than Dulcha Lungiambula.

Magomed lost his first fight to Paul Craig but then won two other fights against Marcin Praccinio by TKO and Clidson Abreu by a unanimous decision. Ankalaev had his last UFC fight in February of 2019 and Magomed has only lost once, just in 2018 to Craig.

Magomed Ankalaev

Magomed Ankalaev is not very well known to Russian mixed martial arts fans. He began to do the sport professionally after being successful in amateur fights. In those fights, he had a lot of experience and became an MMA champion. After that, he moved into the professional leagues and first competed in little-known ones.

After five victories in five matches, Magomed began to compete at the WFCA, which is under the patronage of Ramzan Kadyrov. At this new place, he also won five fights and became champion there. Then he was offered a contract with the UFC.

When Ankalaev made his debut in UFC, he was challenged by Paul Craig. While most of the fight he dominated, in the last seconds he got caught and lost. He was upset but after that, won two fights. Recently, he beat Clidson Abreu and will try to win again.

Dulcea Lungiambula

South African representatives are infrequent visitors to the UFC. We cannot say much about Lungiambula’s career because it is hard for us to watch African promotions. Dalcha started his professional career in 2014 in the EFC league and until the end of 2018, he competed in that league. In that time, he won 9 times with only 1 loss.

You can earn a contract with the UFC if you win enough fights. Dulcea won his first fight in June 2019. He beat Dequan Townsend. Dulcea had an early victory in the third round.

What were the predictions?

Ancalaev is the favorite in this fight. He mostly uses his stand-up and doesn’t do much on the ground. Ankalaev is better because he knows Greco-Roman wrestling and combat sambo, which means he can do anything.

Magomed has more experience of performing in the UFC. He also has the advantage that he is taller than Luangimbula and Luangimbula has never fought an opponent like Magomed before. We think that Magomed will win early, but it is not sure if he wins first or second round.
